Moving Questions, Answered Honestly

Everything you need to know before booking a move in the Orlando area — from pricing and scheduling to specialty items and storage.
How early should I schedule my move in Orlando?

For local moves, booking one to two weeks out gives us enough time to match you with the right crew and truck size. During busier stretches — particularly the winter snowbird season and summer months — we recommend reaching out even earlier. Need something sooner? Call us directly and we’ll check same-day or next-day availability.

What packing materials are included with my move?

Every full-service move comes with moving blankets, shrink wrap, and tape at no extra charge. If you need boxes, bubble wrap, dish kits, or custom crating for fragile items, we carry those at reasonable add-on rates. Just ask when you book.

How does Florida's rainy season affect my move?

Afternoon thunderstorms are common in the Orlando area from June through September. Our crews bring protective tarps and waterproof wrap to shield your belongings during loading and unloading. We track forecasts ahead of moving day and communicate any schedule adjustments as early as possible.

Are my belongings covered if something gets damaged?

Yes. Every move includes standard liability coverage from the moment we begin loading. For antiques, artwork, electronics, or other high-value items, ask your coordinator about enhanced protection options before your moving date. Any damage should be reported within 48 hours so we can open a claim right away.

How is the price calculated for my move?

Local moves are billed hourly based on crew size and truck. Long-distance moves are quoted by weight and distance traveled. In either case, we provide a written estimate before any work begins — what we quote is what you pay, with no fuel surcharges or surprise fees added on moving day.

Can you work around HOA or gated community access rules?

Yes, and we handle this regularly in the Orlando area. Communities in Dr. Phillips, Windermere, Celebration, Lake Nona, and other gated neighborhoods often have specific truck access hours, approved entry gates, or move-in windows. Share the requirements when you book and we’ll coordinate with the property directly.

Do you move pianos, pool tables, or safes?

We do. Our crews are trained for heavy and specialty items and arrive with the right equipment for the job. Let us know about any specialty pieces when scheduling so we can assign the appropriate crew size and tools — these items need advance planning to move safely.

Do you handle furniture disassembly and reassembly?

Yes. Bed frames, dining tables, desks, wardrobes, bookshelves, and most standard furniture can be taken apart before loading and reassembled at the destination. This is included at no extra charge on full-service moves.

Is there a minimum booking time for local moves?

Most local moves carry a two-hour minimum. The exact minimum can vary depending on your crew size and location — your coordinator will confirm the details when you book.

Do you offer long-distance moves out of Florida?

We do. Our long-distance service covers all 48 contiguous states with GPS-tracked transport, a dedicated move coordinator, and scheduled delivery windows. We handle routes from the Orlando area frequently, including moves to Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and the Carolinas.

Can I store my belongings between moves?

Yes. We work with climate-controlled storage facilities in and around the Orlando area for customers who need short-term or long-term options. This is a common solution for staged home sales, delayed closings, or split-date moves. We can coordinate drop-off directly to the storage unit.

What should I do to prepare for moving day?

Label boxes by room, set aside anything fragile or valuable you plan to carry yourself, clear doorways and hallways, and confirm truck parking access at both locations. After booking, we send a detailed preparation checklist by email so nothing gets overlooked before the crew arrives.

Are there items you cannot transport?

We cannot move hazardous materials, flammable liquids, live plants, ammunition, or perishable food. If you’re unsure about a specific item, reach out to your coordinator before moving day — it’s always better to clarify early than deal with a delay on the day of your move.
